Platform Fighter Prototype
This is a genre I have loved since Super Smash Bros 64 and one that has grown greatly and supported large competitive communities. I decided to make a prototype while searching for a job in the game industry to improve my programming skills and utilize my Unity training from college (gray background above).
After getting my first job doing QA and a long break from the prototype I decided to rework it. I created a system where the player attempts to score goals. I implemented two types of "attacks" to move the ball. The first a punt to get the ball in the air and the second a hit to send the ball flying. The player can influence the trajectory by holding a direction parallel to the base trajectory. This gives the player as surprising amount of control with a small move set (blue background below).
